Then this Winter, I had a very dry, itchy rash around my eyes and I went to a Dermatologist to figure out what it was. There was no known cause but I had to go on a very simple cleansing and moisturizing program before I could slowly added back my products. The Dermatologist had me use Albolene to cleanse my face. It is not glamorous or expensive and it comes in a very large, oversized, ugly container but it works!
Albolene is a thick, heavy petroleum like product that you slather all over your face, eyelids and neck, wiping it off with tissues. I found that the tissues start shredding on my face and I have to rinse my face to remove them. I am looking for a better, stronger tissue product (let me know if you have suggestions) to wipe off the product because to maintain the moisture in your skin you should not be using water. As much as I love my Laura Mercier Puriying Oil Cleanser, I think I am going to stick with Albolene for the Winter months because it has helped return my skin to its pre-rash, itchy state and adds more moisture for these dry, cold months. I, happily, do not feel pinched, itchy or dry anymore. As an added bonus, I am going to add it to my traveling cosmetic bag because I know it will not budge and cause a huge oily mess!
Give it a try and let me know what you think.
