Christmas Crackers

It would not be a Holiday meal at our house. if we did not have Christmas Crackers at everyone's place.  It is a long standing tradition that gets everyone wearing paper crowns, laughing at some not so funny jokes and playing with plastic games.   I love how festive they are on the table and that everyone gets a little treat.  To learn more about how the custom came about read The History of the Christmas Cracker.

Every year I look for crackers that match my table and have a fun group of toys.  I decided to do an internet search to see if I could find an assortment of crackers that were filled with interesting gifts.  I found a wide range from simple to luxurious:

I happened to stop into the Jo Malone boutique in Grand Central and spied these crackers filled with delicious smelling products, perfect for the ladies at the table!

I particularly like the Anya Hindmarch crackers, each one, along with the hat, joke and gift, contains a special number that could win you a Anya Hindmarch handbag!  Now that is a pretty fabulous cracker!

This year Asprey has created a limited edition cracker with Philip Treacy.  One lucky recipient, of only 80 crackers produced, could win a Bespoke Philip Treacy Couture Hat along with the beautiful silver thimble, festive hat, fun joke and confetti that comes in the cracker. At a cost of $2000 this is the most luxurious and expensive cracker I have ever seen!

  1. How fun! We always have crackers on Christmas Eve and make the boys put on a concert with the mini instruments inside. How we'd love to receive one of the Philip Treacy ones! Wishing you a happy day.
